Year 5 and 6 Children from both federation schools joined together to visit Gainsborough Old Hall to bring to life their History topic of ‘What was life like in Tudor England?’  The children were given a tour of the ground floor of the hall, learning what life was like for everyone that lived in a Tudor household, and what it would have been like preparing a feast for King Henry VIII who was known to have stayed at the hall.

In the Great Hall the children dressed in period costume to re-enact a feast for the King, taking on the roles of guards, jesters and musicians while learning the etiquette of such an occasion.

In the afternoon we had further time to explore the house, which is kept very much as it was in the time of the Tudors.  The children loved seeing all the rooms, particularly the Gallery and Games room!
