Year 5 and 6 pupils from both our schools came together to celebrate their graduation and completion of the DAaRT programme that they have been studying this term through Lifeskills Education.

DAaRT (Drug, Alcohol and Resilience Training) is a skills-based prevention programme that engages pupils in interactive activities that give them the opportunity to learn and practice a range of personal and social skills.  Weekly sessions covered alcohol, tobacco and substance awareness; along with issues including cyber bullying, knife and hate crime.

The programme also looks at effective strategies for dealing with stress, becoming a good citizen and learning to say no when faced with difficult situations.  It builds on our PSHE curriculum and is designed to equip young people with a range of knowledge and skills which they can use to make the right choices as they transition to secondary school and beyond.
