Dear Parents and Carers,

We are now very close to the end of this half term. The children have achieved an awful lot and we have had two very exciting school visits. Key Stage 2 have now visited Rushey Mead Primary School in Leicester where we received a very warm welcome and enjoyed a day getting to know the children and experiencing life in a large busy primary school. Yesterday Key Stage 1 went to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford and have come back full of the excitement of the day and able to tell us what they have learned and enjoyed.

The new National Curriculum continues to give us the chance to follow some new and different topics with the children and I would like to thank all the parents who joined us for our celebration assembly this term. The children and staff appreciate the chance to show case everyone’s achievements.

Swimming

Our contract for swimming was reviewed last year and the decision taken to reduce this and release more time for other areas of the curriculum. We had our last swimming session last week and there will of course be the opportunity for the children to swim again in the next academic year. This means that after half term we will have more opportunities to continue our topic work in school as well as literacy and numeracy. We also have the dance specialist, Raj Mann, working with us again each Friday after half term to lead sessions with the children. These are very active, enjoyable sessions and will continue to add to the range of P.E opportunities for the children.

After School Club

We are pleased to announce that after the Easter half term, we will be running an after school club Monday to-Friday each week. This will be run in house and will offer a range of activities for children. We will also provide a light snack and refreshments. Booking forms will be sent out after half term with more details.
