Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had a really good start to the new term and are very pleased to have some early
sunshine.

The Rainbow Room

As you know we have now opened our new Rainbow Room, everyone has done a fabulous job
making this a lovely learning space in school. Please call in and have a look, the children
are really keen to work in the room and it is already a very busy place.

Staffing

We said goodbye to Mrs. Thorpe at the end of last term and the children met up with her during
a special assembly to thank her for her hard work here at Norwell Primary School.
Mrs. Thorpe was very touched by the good wishes and gifts that she received and would like me
to pass on her thanks.

Mrs. Thorpe will be missed in school but we are very pleased to welcome Mrs Jess Lees who will
be joining the teaching staff after the May half term break. Mrs Lees is well known to the school
staff; until her maternity leave started last October she was the Key Stage 2 teacher at our
partner school St. Matthew’s. Mrs. Lees will take over our 0.6 (3 days) teaching role and is really
looking forward to getting to know the children here at Norwell. Mrs. Lees will be working very
closely with Mrs. Speigal and she is very experienced at teaching mixed age classes. Her
enthusiastic approach to teaching means the children can expect an exciting time with her. We
are hoping that Mrs. Lees will be in school at times before she takes up her post and will get a
chance to meet you and the children.

Events

We have a lot of exciting things happening at the moment including plans for camping,
orienteering and some filming here in Norwell. You will be receiving information outlining the
activities that involve your child but please call in and see us if you have any questions.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to a very enjoyable summer term.

Best Wishes,

Diane Ward
