We are starting a new and exciting project as we now have a Norwell school allotment. The plot is surrounded by wide grassy paths and has established apple trees by it, which will provide shade for us when we use it. Other allotment holders have been wonderful and have kindly helped to clear the site and even rotavated it for us!

We have big plans for the plot – we will start small this year and hopefully next year it will go from strength to strength.  Some of the children have already been down and planted onions, squash and potatoes.  By next month, they will have started to grow and the children can watch and record the growth of the plants.

The children will go down in groups during the school day with staff to weed, feed and water the plants. When the children start school, as parents, you sign giving us permission to take children on locality walks and activities which means we don’t have to get separate permissions each time. This means we can go down regularly and when the weather is good!

Laurie Warren and Naomi John are kindly helping to lead this project and we are keen to involve other parents and family members if they would like to help when the children go down. If you would like to get involved and have an hour or two to spare, please talk to Laurie, Naomi or Mrs King.
