Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a good half term break. The children have been full of enthusiasm on their return which has been lovely to see. I have already been impressed by the children working with Mrs. King who have been learning all about Diwali and the children with Mrs. Speigal have yet again been producing some impressive writing.

Class Organsation

Mrs. Thorpe is currently unwell and you will be aware that Mrs. King and Mrs. Speigal are both now teaching full time. They are running two classes with the support of our Teaching Assistants who have also increased their hours to provide plenty of small group and one to one work with children.

The teachers and support staff know all of the children well and this organisation means that all of our literacy, numeracy and topic work is continuing as planned and that there is as little disruption as possible for the children.

Mrs. King is attending statutory first aid training this week so it will be necessary to have a supply teacher covering key stage one for three mornings this week.

Celebration Assembly

The children are already keen to collect their stickers for good work and behaviour and we would like to remind you that you are welcome to join us for our celebration assembly on 17th November at 3pm. This will be your chance to see how our Good to be Green system works and congratulate the children as they receive their certificates.

Key dates for this term are on the calendar on our website, www.norwellandstmatthews.co.uk and we hope to see lots of you at these events across this half term.

Thank you for your continued support,

Diane Ward
