To mark armistice day, the children from Norwell Church of England Primary School visited the war memorial to observe a minutes silence and pay their respects to the 15 soldiers from Norwell and Norwell Woodhouse who died in the two World Wars and the war in Malaya.

After observing a minutes silence, pupils recited ‘In Flanders Fields’ by John McCrae before placing a cross by the memorial and reading aloud the names of each soldier who gave their life in service of their country.

In school, children have also marked the day looking at a number of poems about the war before writing and adapting their own war poetry.
