Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils from both schools in the federation enjoyed a fabulous few days in the Peak District during our recent residential trip to Hagg Farm.

Our main activities this year included :-

  • Abseiling down the 70 foot high Headstone Viaduct on the Monsal Trail,
  • Stream Scrambling along one of the tributaries of the Ashop River, navigating under fallen trees, climbing waterfalls and jumping into some of the deep plunge pools.
  • Learning Orienteering and Bushcraft Skills around the Hagg Farm site, including Den Building, Fire Lighting and making very satisfying Hot Chocolate!

In the evenings, everyone learned to trust their friends and guide each other blindfolded around a forest trail and enjoyed more Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows around the campfire.

It was fantastic to see everyone push themselves out of their comfort zones, try new things and grow in confidence as a result.  Well done everyone !!!
