Kite Federation collaborating with Brierley Forest

Dear Parents/Carers

I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on our current collaboration with Brierley Forest Primary and Nursery School. This is an exciting opportunity for all three schools to work together and improve our offer to your children.

All three schools are currently judged to be good by OFSTED and have lots to offer each other. This work has got underway quickly and staff at our two schools have had the opportunity to share our excellent nurture and EYFS practice with the staff at Brierley Forest. There are plans in place for staff at Brierley to work with us to develop our computing curriculum and our maths provision. This work is helping all three schools to provide the best possible provision for all of our children and improve standards even further.

Staff from Brierley Forest have visited us and have been so impressed with our beautiful, well resourced schools. As a new build school with fabulous sporting facilities planned for the developing grounds, Brierley Forest has much to offer our children and staff here are keen to make the most of our collaboration.

After consultation and discussion the governing bodies of the Kite Primary Federation and Brierley Forest primary & Nursery have agreed to enter into a formal collaboration to secure this new way of working. Brierley Forest will not become a part of the Federation but we have drawn up a formal agreement to share the leadership of myself as Executive Head Teacher over all three schools with the support of a joint collaboration committee who will monitor the work and effectiveness of the collaboration.

This model of collaboration is one that is used by many schools and brings a number of benefits including financial savings which are greatly appreciated at a time when school budgets are under significant pressure.
